💡 Practical Tips
- 🚂 Train tickets: Book 1-2 days in advance at the station for popular times; 1st class sells out quickly
- 📸 Nine Arch Bridge photography: About 2-3 trains pass daily; ask locals for the timetable
- 💧 Dunhinda Falls: Rainy season (April-June) has maximum water flow but slippery trails; wear non-slip shoes
- 🛕 Temple etiquette: Remove shoes and hats in temple areas; walk clockwise around the stupa
- 🍵 Tea purchases: Uva "seasonal tea" (July-September harvest) has the best quality
- 🧥 Temperature variation: Hill country mornings and evenings are cool; even if 25°C during the day, it can drop to 15°C at dawn
- 📱 Signal: Dialog coverage is unstable in mountainous areas; download offline maps
- 🚫 Train safety: Sitting at carriage doors for photos is thrilling, but watch for curves and tunnels; don't lean out too far
