Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture (Bay Prefecture) — China's largest prefecture, 470,000 km², larger than Germany! Home to China's largest inland freshwater lake (Bosten), largest desert (Taklamakan), longest desert highway, and largest poplar forest. Korla is the capital — famous for "Korla Fragrant Pears."
