Day 1: World Dinosaur Valley (120 RMB) + Yi Ancient Town (free)
Dinosaur Valley: 120+ dinosaur fossils, complete Chuanjiesaurus (27m long). Glass dome covers the excavation site — see fossils emerging from rock layers. 1 hour from Chuxiong.
Evening: Yi Ancient Town — cobblestone streets, Yi culture shows, bonfire party. Yi food: Tuotuo meat (15-25 RMB), buckwheat cakes (3-5 RMB), grilled lamb ribs (30-50 RMB).
Day 2: Heijing Ancient Town (free) + Yuanmou Man Site (20 RMB)
Heijing — 2000-year-old salt town, now quiet and undeveloped. Stone paths, ancient salt wells, Wu Family mansion (Qing Dynasty salt merchant). Zero commercialization.
Yuanmou — 1.7 million-year-old human teeth fossils (China's earliest). Yuanmou Earth Forest — wind-eroded yellow earth pillars like alien landscape.
Day 3: Chuxiong Museum (free) + Zixi Mountain (15 RMB) → Departure
Museum: Yi costumes and silverwork (stunning embroidery), Wanjia Bronze Drum (Spring-Autumn period, world's earliest). Zixi Mountain: 96% forest cover, tea garden, dinosaur footprints, easy hike 1-2 hours.
