Pingxiang 3-Day Travel Guide: Wugong Mountain Sea of Clouds, 100,000-Mu Alpine Meadows
Pingxiang, a treasure city in western Jiangxi. Wugong Mountain features 100,000 mu of alpine meadows — "Grasslands in the Sky" — one of China's most spectacular high-altitude grasslands. Sea of clouds, sunrise, starlit camping, and vast meadows make it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Pingxiang is also the birthplace of the Chinese workers' movement — the Anyuan miners' strike. Three days to discover western Jiangxi's magnificent landscapes and spicy cuisine.
🚶 Day 1: Wugong Mountain — Sea of Clouds and Sunrise
Full Day: Wugong Mountain (¥70, Cable car up ¥65/down ¥55)

Key experiences:
- ☁️ Cloud Sea Sunrise: Stand at Golden Summit as clouds roll below and golden light fills the sky
- 🌿 Vast Meadows: Endless golden grasslands stretching along the ridge

- 🏔️ Despair Slope: The steepest section — massive sense of achievement at the top
Recommended: Take cable car to mid-mountain, then hike 1.5 hours to Golden Summit.
Evening: Summit Camping
The most unique experience — tent camping on the meadow at 1,900m. Summit temperature is 10-15°C lower than base. Bring a warm jacket even in summer.

Morning: Sunrise then descend
Wake at 5:30 AM for sunrise. Descend via trails through Diaomazhuang and Haohanpo, about 2-3 hours.
Afternoon: Anyuan Workers' Memorial (Free)
The birthplace of China's workers' movement. The 1922 Anyuan strike was a major milestone. Liu Shaoqi, Li Lisan, and Mao Zedong all led workers here.
Evening: Pingxiang Food
