Qiannan Buyei-Miao Autonomous Prefecture — the greenest place in Guizhou. Maolan Karst Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — primeval forest on karst peaks, an Earth marvel. Plus FAST — the world's largest radio telescope (500m diameter) gazing into deep space. Qiannan is Guizhou's most underrated destination.
🚶 Day 1: Libo Xiaoqikong (Full Day)
"Emerald on Earth" — UNESCO's description of Libo. 7km scenic corridor along Xiangshui River:
- Xiaoqikong Ancient Bridge: 1835 stone bridge with seven arches reflected in emerald water — THE icon
- Laya Waterfall: 30m drop beside the road
- 68-Level Cascade: Stepped waterfalls dancing down limestone
- Water Forest: Walk through water among trees — take off shoes and wade!
- Cuigu Waterfall: "Joy of Life" filming location
- Wolong Pool: Deep blue water, bamboo rafting (¥30)
Tickets ¥130 + shuttle ¥40. Allow 5-6 hours. 3.5hrs from Guiyang.
🚶 Day 2: Daqikong → Maolan Karst Forest
Morning: Daqikong — wilder and more dramatic than Xiaoqikong. Terror Gorge (100m cliffs, few meters wide), Natural Bridge (60m high), Yaofeng Cave. ¥55, 2.5 hours.
Afternoon: Maolan Karst Forest — UNESCO World Heritage. Primeval forest on cone karst peaks. "Green Karst Museum." Wuyan Bridge hike (~2hrs), Funnel Forest (100m deep sinkholes filled with ancient trees). ¥50.
🚶 Day 3: China Sky Eye FAST → Departure
World's largest radio telescope — 500m diameter, 30 football fields. Nestled in a karst depression.
- Must: Deposit ALL electronics (phone, camera, watch) — strict security!
- Shuttle bus to viewing platform (¥50). Panoramic views of the silver panels. Breathtaking.
- Free entry but MUST book 1-3 days ahead via official WeChat mini-program!
Afternoon: Return to Guiyang (~2.5hrs) or fly from Libo Airport.
