Sansha — established 2012, China's youngest, southernmost, largest (2 million km² sea area) but smallest land (~20 km²) and least populated (~2,500) prefecture. Administers Paracel, Macclesfield, and Spratly Islands. Yongxing Island is the government seat — the only island currently open for tourism. Paracel Islands have China's most beautiful sea — 30m+ visibility, high coral coverage. Silver Islet, Yagong Island, Quanfu Island have snow-white beaches. Called "China's Maldives."
Day 1: Yongxing Island
Government seat — 2.6 km². China's southernmost post office, bank, hospital. Bicycle around island (~30 min). White sand beaches, coconut palms.
Day 2: Silver Islet + Yagong Island
Spectacular gradient blue waters. Snorkeling — coral and tropical fish visible. Yagong: all-coral-gravel island, fisherman village, freshest seafood.
Day 3: Quanfu Island → Return
Pristine uninhabited island — snow-white sand, 30m+ visibility. China's clearest sea.
Important: Access only through licensed tour operators (cruise from Sanya, 4D3N ~¥4,000-8,000). Chinese citizens only. Apply for Sansha travel permit in advance. No coral/shell collecting. Budget: cruise package ~¥4,000-8,000/person.
