Yan'an 3-Day City Walk Guide: The Sacred Land of Revolution on the Loess Plateau
Yan'an is the sacred land of the Chinese revolution, a red city on the Loess Plateau. From 1935 to 1948, Mao Zedong and the CPC Central Committee were stationed here for 13 years, directing the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation. The Pagoda Hill is Yan'an's symbol, cave dwellings are the unique residential form of the Loess Plateau, and the Hukou Waterfall is the most spectacular waterfall on the Yellow River. Three days will take you through red history, Loess Plateau culture, and the majestic power of the Yellow River.
