Yuxi 3-Day Guide: Nie Er's Hometown, Fuxian Lake's Blue & Ailao Mountain's Green

Yuxi, just 1 hour from Kunming — a livable city where life flows as gently as Fuxian Lake's waves. Birthplace of Nie Er (composer of China's national anthem), home to China's deepest and clearest alpine lake (Class I water, 8m visibility), Tonghai Xiushan's "Finest in Southern Yunnan," Huaning's 600-year pottery tradition, and Ailao Mountain's pristine wilderness. Yuxi is Kunming's "backyard" and every traveler's "hidden gem."

🚶 Day 1: Nie Er's Home → Hongta Mountain → Night Market

Morning: Nie Er's Former Residence — the national anthem composer, born 1912 in Yuxi, wrote the anthem at age 23. Adjacent Nie Er Park (free) with bronze statue.

Midday: Yuxi small-pot rice noodles (¥10-15) — copper pot freshly cooked with minced meat, chives, pickled vegetables, chili oil. The classic Yunnan comfort food. Also cold rice noodles (¥8-12) for summer.

🚶 Day 2: Fuxian Lake (Full Day)
